Project Hail Mary: Movie-Review
Before diving into this movie, I of course had to read the book first. And I am not lying when I say that by the time I was halfway, I already knew it was going to be my favorite book (only to be dethroned by The Ocean at the End of the Lane a few weeks later, but still).
The book did everything perfectly. What i loved the most was the character and the connection you have with them. I mean, Rocky is literally just a rock, but you feel exactly what he feels and you genuinely care about him. The same goes for Grace, he is written so good that you know exactly what kind of person he is.
Because I loved the book so much, I was a little scared to see how it would translate to a movie. But oh my days... the movie gave me that exact same amazed feeling. It was beyond my greatest expectations it was awesome!
I heard online that the movie was good, but I didn't expect it to be this good. I genuinely don’t have a single thing to complain about (besides the unbalanced centrifuge).
One minute the movie had me laughing, and a few minutes later, I was sitting on the edge of my seat, praying to the universe for the lives of Rocky and Grace.
What a truly amazing movie. The story was perfect, and the visuals... omg. It is easily one of the most visually gorgeous movies I have ever seen. The way they made the infrared astrophage was stunning, also the ship (the hail mary) was awesomesauce.
If you haven’t watched it yet, please go watch it I'm sure you'll like it, even if you don't like science fiction.
