Bucket-List: Diary Entry #3
Hi hi dear readers! I actually had a really great day today.
I had to wake up quite early to return my schoolbooks since yk, it’s the end of the school year. I wanted to shower and get all my book i had to return together before going, and since I had to be at school by 10:35, I set my alarm for 08:00. my alarm went off, but ofc my bed was just laying wayyy too comfy, so I i got up at 09:00 instead. but that still left me a whole hour, which was more than enough time:)
I got ready, went to school, and handed back my books. I was gonna make sushi with my friends at around 13:00, which left me with some time in between. To pass the time (cuz i didnt wanna go home to then come back half an hour later), I went into the music classroom and played some music. Great way to spend your time btw.
Then it was sushi time! We started at my friend's house while we waited for one last friend to arrive who was coming a bit later. I have to say, personally, I was quite good at rolling them. Yes yes I’m a natural. The end result was actually a bit sloppy and looked more like a sushi salad than actual rolls (mine were still pretty damn good) but who cares? It tasted great!
After the sushi, we went outside, bought some ice cream at the store, and went to the park to eat it.
I was sitting next to the friend who arrived late, and she mentioned that her dad works with trains. She didn’t really know what he did exactly, but the moment i heard the word trains i started yapping about that. How I would buy one if I were a billionaire, and how much I want to operate one.
It got me thinking. driving a steam train is definitely on my bucket list. But what else is? So this blog is dedicated to my bucketlist:)
1: The first one is obvious: operating a steam train. I already love riding trains, but actually operating one would be the coolest thing ever. And if it's a steam train? Wow. Imagine driving in a tender steam locomotive through a forest ie the mountains WHEN ITS AUTUMN, surrounded by orange trees. It would be so beautiful and aesthetic. I’d basically feel like I was riding the Hogwarts Express.
(If you don't know what a tender train is, you can click here to read my little essay where i yap about them)
Tender Locomotive in autumn, so aesthetic
2: The second thing on my bucket list is writing a book. I’ve tried starting a book a few times before, but I always ended up stopping because I didn't have the time or the dedication. One day, I will have both im sure of it. I'm not entirely sure what kind of book I'll write yet. I'd love to write a fantasy novel and build a whole magical world, but I’m terrified of accidentally making it look like a copy of Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings. If I'm going to do it, I want it to be genuinely original, something I'm proud of and that's actually worth reading. If I can find that perfect idea I know the dedication be there too.
3: Then theres seeing the northern lights. When I’m older, I really want to move further north anyway, or maybe to England. I definitely don't want to stay in the Netherlands. If I end up living somewhere up north, seeing the northern lights is definatly something i have to do. Whenever I see photos, I like to believe it's not real. like, its literally colors glowing in the sky? I know its real, but i still want to see it with my own eyes.
4: Learning a new language is definately up there on my bucketlist. I only know Dutch and English. While I can read English perfectly fluently (I prefer English books over Dutch ones because I read them so much faster, genuienly no idea why), trying to speak English is a nightmare. I overthink every single word and it only makes it worse T-T. I’ve always been fascinated languages and how they are built, but school just kinda sucks all the joy out of learning them. I’d love to completely self study a new language on my own. I have no idea which language yet, but that’s a thing for my future self to figure out.
5: To wrap this bucket list up, I’d love to be in a movie. It doesn't even have to be a main role, just being part of a film production seems so fascinating. When I was a kid, I really wanted to be an actor (specifically Harry Potter). My parents even suggested acting lessons, but I was way too scared to do that. I still think acting is cool, but I still think I'm a little too shy for it, or maybe I'm starting too late. There are a lot of reasons to maybe not do it, but it’s going to stay on my list anyway.
(I think I might make a dedicated page on my website for my complete bucket list, cuz i can't put it all in one blog, and i could keep track of everything i did)
sigh, it would be so cool. Maybe directing a movie would be cool too. Or making a short film with my friend, but idk if they would wanna do that.
Oh wait, I almost forgot! My parents gave me a new (well, not really new) camera! I’ve wanted to get into photography for a really long time now, but my phone camera is straight up ass. They gave one of their old cameras to me, and it’s actually pretty high quality, way better than my phone anyway. i'll definately be posting some of my photos on here:D
If I end up liking photography, I might save for an actually good one. I’d like to have a professional rig for astrophotography someday, and i'd need a good camera for that too. I actually have a dream astrophotography setup in mind, maybe I’ll write a collections post about that:)
Also, question: should I rename my collections page to essays? I think it fits better, since its not really collections of things, its just me yapping about nerdy stuff.
Anyway, I should probably go get ready for bed now. Bye bye pookies!
Luuk... out. (For today, anyway)
